Blues Legend Dead at 86

(Jones County, MS) — Blues legend, L.C. Ulmer, has died at the age of 86. He was found unconscious by family members Sunday morning in his Ellisville home. Born Lee Chester, Ulmer was a native of South Mississippi who played music for 50 years all over the U.S. He was a multi-instrumentalist who met and played with famous musicians including Elvis Presley, Nat King Cole, Fats Domino, Louis Armstrong and many, many more. He returned to his MS home in Ellisville in 2001. Ulmer is believed to have died of natural causes although the exact cause of death is still pending.
