Black Capitol Police Officer Fired After Confrontation

JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — A confrontation between people waving Mississippi and Confederate battle flags at the state’s new civil rights museum has led to the firing of a black Capitol Police Officer. Calling the flag-waving “almost like a desecration” State Representative Kathy Sykes of Jackson confirmed the firing according to a report in the Clarion-Ledger. The incident was captured on camera and has gone viral on Facebook.
