Batesville Teacher At Center Of Racist Post Fired

BATESVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Cammie Rone, a second-grade teacher at Batesville Intermediate School in Batesville who was accused of making a racist post on her Facebook page has been fired. The South Panola School District told WREG-TV Tuesday that the decision was made following an investigation. Rone had denied making the post claiming that her account had been “hacked”. Rone can appeal the decision but did not return media requests for comment on the school district’s decision.
