August 19: The Week In Review

THE DELTA (Ben Caton) — Another week is in the books across the Delta. Here’s what you may have missed if you weren’t listening to the news every day on Delta radio. On Saturday we found out that the Rosedale library smells bad, a Cleveland Doctor got arrested for being bad, and it was a bad to be named Willaims in Vicksburg. The Vicksburg Mayor Monday urged citizens who want surveillance cameras to commit crimes, an accused Greenville triple-shooter was given a $1.2M bond, and a $5,00 reward was issued for help finding the killer of an Arkansas camper. Tuesday we learned owners of a collapsed McComb building ignored warnings of structural problems, and a Yazoo man died in a shooting. Also this week a crop dusting pilot died in a crash near Minter City, two Coahoma jail escapees were captured, and Greenville firefighters put out a truck fire and worked on an oil spill in a semi-rollover.
