Attempted robbery ends with shots fired on New Year’s Day

Greenville police responded to an aggravated assault and attempted armed robbery at a local business on Fairview Avenue. All Assistant Chief Michael Merchant would say is that an unidentified black man entered Silk Flowers at around 6:30 in the afternoon and soon after opened fire. An employee 42- year old Jeremy Berry was shot in the right side of his body but it’s unclear why. No details were released on what transpired immediately before Berry was shot, his condition or what was taken if anything.
