Assault Charges Dropped Against Greenville Shooter

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — A Greenville judge has dropped assault charges against one of two men who fired at each in an argument Thursday afternoon, and refused to issue a warrant for charges against the other. 30-year-old Javoris Alexander was arrested by police on charges of Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. On Friday Judge Michael Prewitt set a bond of $5,000 on the firearm possession charge, and dropped the assault charge. Police say the incident may be presented to an upcoming Grand Jury.
