Arkansas Residents Alerted of Tax Lien Scam

(Drew County, AR) — Drew County residents are being alerted of a tax lien settlement scam. On Tuesday, the sheriff’s office was notified of a Drew County resident who said he received a suspicious letter stating he had fallen behind on his state tax lien and offering to settle the claim and save $23,164. After contacting the Arkansas Department of Finance and the Individual Tax Bureau, the sheriff’s office confirmed that the letter the resident received was a scam. The Drew County Sheriff’s Office cautions anyone who receives mail or documents which appear to be questionable to research the claim or contact their office for assistance.
