Arkansas Man Dies in Fall from Mississippi Tower

BROOKHAVEN, MS (Ben Caxton) — An Arkansas man working on a Mississippi Radio tower unhooked part of his safety harness, lost his balance, and fell nearly 300 feet to his death last week. That’s the conclusion of the county coroner in Brookhaven. 34-year-old Christopher Chase Hawkins of Caraway were changing out lightning rods as part of maintenance on the tower when the accident happened. Hawkins survived the fall but died before he could be taken to a hospital.
