AR Driver Rescued from Burning SUV Then Arrested

(Benton, AR) — After an SUV caught fire, police had to rescue the driver. Benton police received calls about a reckless driver in a white Hummer that was headed west. An officer spotted the vehicle where it had hit a concrete wall on the driver’s side and there was smoke coming from it. As the officer approached the Hummer, he noticed the driver just staring straight ahead as smoke poured from the vehicle. Both doors were locked so the officer broke the passenger window and opened the door. At that point, the driver came to and two officers pulled him out. The driver was identified as 31-year-old Bilal Al-Amin of North Little Rock and he faces multiple charges including Driving While Under the Influence and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
