Another Murder in Greenville

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — One man was killed, and two women were injured in an early Tuesday morning shooting in Greenville. Police were called to the 800 block of Nelson Street around 1:30 AM and on arrival were told several people had been shot, but all had been taken by private vehicles to the hospital. Delta Regional Medical Center confirmed they had received three gunshot victims. The unidentified 30-year-old male had been shot twice and died of his injuries. The women, ages 29 and 30, each received a single gunshot wound and were reported to be in stable condition. Police investigators say the shooting may have stemmed from a previous altercation between the suspect and the male victim and believe the women were uninvolved and were struck as bystanders. The suspect, 24-year-old Alex Hardy was arrested in the 400 block of North 9th Street without incident and is being held pending a court appearance by Greenville Police. He has been charged with 1 count of murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
