Accused Silver Slipper Murderer Bond Set At $750,000

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Quincy Scott, accused of being the shooter involved in Greenville’s second homicide in less than a week, made his first court appearance. He appeared before Judge Michael Prewitt in Greenville yesterday for arraignment. Prewitt set Scott’s bond at $750,000 on charges of second-degree murder. Greenville Police were called to the Silver Slipper at 1025 Dallriva Street just after 1:30 Sunday morning. On the scene, they found a man identified as 29-year-old Dorrell Williams with a gunshot wound to the right leg. Williams was taken to Delta Regional Medical Center but later died from his injuries. Investigators identified 40-year-old Quincy Scott as a suspect. He was arrested a short time later in the 200 block of Reed Road without incident. Police say the incident stemmed from a fight that had occurred at a private party being held at The Silver Slipper. The murder is the second in four days in Greenville. Four teenagers ranging in age from 13 to 19 years old were charged with murder in the Wednesday night shooting death of 33-year-old Anthony Edwards whose body was found by Police in a field off Sicily Street.
