Accused Oxford Officer Moved After Picture Surfaces

OXFORD, MS (Ben Caxton) — Accused murderer and former Oxford police officer Matthew Kinne is getting a new jail cell. A picture surfaced over the weekend showing Kinne, unguarded outside his cell, eating from a container near an unoccupied guard station, without restraints. Kinne is charged with murder in the May 20 death of 32-year-old Dominique Clayton who was found in bed shot in the head by one of her young children. Relatives of Clayton say she and Kinne were romantically involved. Kinne, who had been being held without bond in the Panola County jail is being moved to an unspecified location now according to Lafayette County District Attorney Ben Creekmore. A grand jury is expected to take up an indictment in the case this week.
