Accused NBA Killer Sherra Wright Makes Court Appearance

MEMPHIS, TN (Ben Caxton) — Sherra Wright, accused of killing her ex-husband Lorenzen Wright, was in court last week long enough for her attorneys to request and receive 30 days to prepare her case. Sherra was arrested last month in California by federal marshals; she is charged with being a fugitive from justice, first-degree premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in the 2010 death of the former NBA player. Billy Turner is also charged with Wright’s murder; he pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder after he was arrested in Memphis last month. Both Turner and Wright are scheduled to be back in court on February 26th. Wright’s attorneys are the sons of Leslie Ballin and Steve Farese Sr. They were dubbed the “Memphis Dream Team” when they defended Mary Winkler in 2007 for the murder of her husband. She was convicted of voluntary manslaughter instead of first-degree murder.
