A Washington County man has received 38 years in prison for his role in the shooting death of Ronald Webster on Oregon Street in June 2013

Chicot Memorial

The victim was an 18-year-old father-to-be who was known as Bo Bo. 22-year-old Benny Motton was sentenced Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the case. Co-defendant Damien Cooper pleaded guilty in January. Motton was out on bail at the time for another fatal shooting and Cooper was implicated in a different fatal shooting a few months later while he was out on bail for Webster’s killing, which had victim advocates questioning why they kept getting released when they were still a danger to other people.
