A non-profit group says Mississippi is losing out on billions of dollars in potential economic activity and thousands of jobs by not expanding Medicaid

Governor Bryant and other top Republicans have insisted that the state cannot afford to expand Medicaid, even if the federal government pays most of the costs. Many low-income individuals in Mississippi currently don’t qualify for the program, and a family of three cannot earn more than 56-hundred dollars a year and keep their benefits.
