A Bolivar County resident has gone before a federal judge for allegedly violating supervised release in an embezzlement case Jimmy Stokes appeared before a judge on charges that he has not provided full financial disclosure and not paid back the nearly 758-thousand dollars he was required to pay as part of his plea deal made in 2009. He pleaded guilty to witness tampering and had four other counts dismissed in a case involving Shelby resident Linda Balducci, who was accused of embezzling federal funds for low-income housing when she was Executive Director of Southeastern Development Opportunities. Stokes was ordered to provide all documentation regarding assets owned by himself, his wife, and ex-wife.
