90 Years In Prison For Killer Of Elderly Crossett Woman

CROSSETT, AR (Ben Caxton) — 21-year-old Carl Robinson pled guilty in the shooting death and robbery of an elderly Crossett, Arkansas woman last July. He was sentenced to 90 years in prison for second-degree murder in the killing of sixty-year-old Karen Sivek whose granddaughter was also injured in the attack with a gunshot wound to her neck. A second suspect, 19-year-old Davontae Morris, also of Crossett, is awaiting sentencing for his role in the crimes. Morris pleaded guilty in March to first-degree murder, attempted capital murder, aggravated robbery, and aggravated residential burglary. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 24. Prosecutors have recommended he serve 50 years in prison with 120-months suspended on imposition of sentence.
