DURANT, MS (Ben Caxton) — More good economic news came to the Delta this week in the form of an announcement of a major plant expansion in Durant in Holmes County. Hunter Engineering is planning an $8 million expansion which will add 60 jobs to its current Durant workforce of 195 over the next two years. Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant, who was on hand for the announcement called these good-paying jobs that can be a “career” for the young people in the community. Help for the project came from both the Delta Regional Authority and the Mississippi Development Authority. Hunter engineering manufactures parts in Durant that are used all over the world and employees a total of nearly 600 workers statewide.
