GREENWOOD, MS (Ben Caxton) — The Greenwood Commonwealth reports that an 8-week-old baby boy died Tuesday at Greenwood Leflore Hospital after being found unresponsive at The Learning Tree Child Care Center. Easton Wiggins, born July 3, was found by child care workers in a baby bouncer chair, according to Leflore County Coroner Debra Sanders. Learning Tree owner Debbie Ellis told the Commonwealth that workers administered CPR and stayed on the phone with 911 while awaiting a MedStat ambulance that transported the baby to the hospital emergency room. He was pronounced dead at the hospital just before noon by physicians who were working to save him. So far the cause of death was unknown. An autopsy is expected to be performed.

  1. No surprise that this happened at the Leaening Tree! Also no surprise that the baby was found dead in a bouncy s at! I witnessed numerous amounts of times babies being propped up in bouncy seats with blenkets holding their bottles! This alone is dangerous! Not only that, but they would be left alone in a dark room where no one would check on them for long periods of time! The perso. That Runs that daycare should not even be allowed to look at children! Much less keep them! They overdosed my two year old on Benadryl and left my AUTISTIC child in his soiled clothes all day long!!!! She needs to be fired and she needs charges pressed on her! It’s hard to even look her direction when I see her in public still! I can guarantee this was no accident! This was the result of neglect at its best! Praying for the family!
