6th Street Driveby Shooter Arrested

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) – 36-year-old Bryant Netters has been arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, for his involvement in the midnight Thursday night shooting in Greenville. Police were called to the 500 block of North 6th Street at 11:56 PM and found evidence of a shooting when they arrived, but no victims. Two men had been transported by private vehicles to the Delta Regional Medical Center. One, 25-year-old Elijah Sawyer, died from his wounds while the other was treated and released. Investigators said the men had been shot by occupants of a passing black SUV, and believe the motive was a previous altercation with Sawyer. Netters was arrested at the Greenville Police Department on Friday without incident. Greenville Police added that the case is still under investigation and other arrests may follow.
