4-Star Trump Hotel Coming To Cleveland

CLEVELAND, MS (Ben Caxton) — The Trump brand is partnering with a Mississippi family to bring a new upscale 4-Star hotel to Cleveland. The new hotel will be a multi-faceted hospitality campus featuring approximately 100 rooms, suites and extended stay accommodations, a 6,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, a 5,000-square-foot event hall, two acres of outdoor festival space and multiple entertainment outlets including two full-service restaurants. Delta Daily News spoke with Suresh Chawla who tells us the new property will be managed by Trump Hotels, in a partnership with Chawla Pointe LLC, which runs seventeen hotels in six cities across the Delta. Kris Yeager, Director of Development for Chawla Pointe, says the new hotel should be open by January. Trump Hotels also has three signed agreements for American IDEA properties in the Mississippi Delta area, according to Chawla Pointe. The IDEA hotels will be an alternative to run-of-the-mill mid-price hotels. Originally slated as Lyric Hotel and Spa, with an estimated cost of $8 million, the Cleveland project turned into the SCION at West End with a projected cost of $15 million after Suresh Chawla met with then presidential candidate Donald Trump. Announcing the collaboration, Trump Hotels CEO Eric Danziger says they are fortunate to partner with Dinesh and Suresh Chawla, describing them as dynamic and highly accomplished hoteliers whose family has managed each of their hotels for over 30 years.
