$4.7 Million Settlement with Morgan Stanley

(Mississippi)­­ A settlement agreement has been established betweeen Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann and the investment firm Morgan Stanley. Over $4 Million dollars will be returned to investors by Morgan Stanley. An additional administrative penalty of $100,000 to the state and a reimbursement to the Division’s investigative cost of $400,000 for a total settlement of $4.7 Million dollars will also be be paid by Morgan Stanley. The concluding settlement includes a multi­year investigation conducted by the Securities Division of the Office of the Secretary of State into complaints from customers who had investment accounts with the firm.
