386 Citations Issued in "Operation Dry Water"

JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — Officers of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks conducted about 2000 safety checks and issued 386 citations over the four-day 4th of July weekend. 35 citations were alcohol and drug-related with 11 citations for boating under the influence. The focus of “Operation Dry Water” was to reduce the number of alcohol and drug-related accidents and fatalities on the state’s waterways.
