3,000 Arkansas State Employees Paid $100,000 Or More

LITTLE ROCK, AR (Ben Caxton) — Figures obtained by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette show that nearly 3,000 State of Arkansas employees earn more than $100,000 per year. That’s up from 2,722 last year, in a state where the median income for an entire household is just over $40,000 per year. The highest government wage earner in the state? University of Arkansas football coach Bret Bielema who makes $4.1 million annually. UA basketball coach Mike Anderson and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences head of pediatric cardiovascular surgery Michiakaki Imamura with salaries of $2.45M and $1.07M respectively round out the top three.
