Chicot Memorial

CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Since November 1st Coahoma County has spent nearly $3.3 million to keep the doors open at Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Curae (cure-A) Health declared bankruptcy earlier this year and the county money was needed to make three payrolls. A federal bankruptcy court in Nashville is expected to finalize the transfer next week to Community Health Systems and Paul Pearson, president of the Coahoma County board of supervisors, emphasized that the hospital will not close.
