$3.1M Contract For Greenville Fed Building Design Announced

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — The new Federal Building in Greenville now has an architect – at a cost of $3.16M dollars. Mississippi Senator Thad Cochran announced Friday the building will be designed by Duvall Decker Architects, a woman-owned, small business firm in Jackson. Cochran, chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, said he is looking forward to the building’s completion, said this was a sign things are moving forward. The $46M dollar project will provide space for the federal judiciary and other services. The General Services Administration chose the Stein Mart Square site at the northwest corner of South Poplar Street and Washington Avenue in downtown Greenville last September to build the new structure over two others being considered in the city.
