2nd Degree Murder Charges in Accidental Shooting

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — What police suspect may have been an accidental shooting has lead to 2nd Degree Murder charges against a young Greenville man. Greenville Police were called to a house at 247 Crescent Street just after 6:00 PM Thursday. When they arrived they found 16-year-old Quinten Grimshel suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel were called but were unable to revive the teenager and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe that Grimshel, along with 19-year-old Otez Thompson, were playing with a gun inside the home when it discharged. Thompson was arrested and charged with 2nd murder and tampering with evidence. Thompson is currently being held without bond at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility.
