Chicot Memorial

(St. Charles, MO) – Two parents are both facing Felony Child Neglect charges after their 2-year-old baby was found unresponsive in his crib Sunday. According to police, Kathleen Peacock and Lucas Barnes put baby Braden in his crib inside their mobile home Friday. The parents turned on the space heater and closed the door, leaving him alone for more than 38 hours. The baby’s death was ruled as hyperthermia due to extreme heat. The baby was also malnourished from having no food for more than a day. The parents admitted to using meth. They are also facing drug charges and are being held inside the St. Charles Jail.
