15-year-old to Be Tried As Adult in Vicksburg Shooting

VICKSBURG, MS (Ben Caxton) — The 15-year-old Vicksburg boy charged with shooting a 17-year-old girl is in more trouble today. First, it was announced Friday that the teenager will be tried as an adult in the case. Then while investigating the shooting police discovered that the youth, now identified as Keshawn Williams, was likely also involved in a drive-by shooting that occurred about 12 hours earlier, around 3:00 AM Monday morning. Williams is facing felony aggravated assault charges in the later incident, and additional charges are likely. The victim, who was shot in the neck just before 2:00 PM Monday in Vicksburg inside an apartment at 1st Street East and Cherry Streets. She is listed in stable condition at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
